Conserving the environment while providing quality water and sewerage services is vital to the National Water and Sewerage Corporation’s operations. The corporation continues to indulge in environmental conservation and water source protection, which explains its involvement in the Nabajuzzi Water Source.

In reference to a previous meeting held between the Masaka Area General Manager, Eng. Emmanuel Mujuni and Masaka City Mayor, Hon. Florence Namayanja about the protection of Nabajuzi water source, the main water source in Masaka, a task force was formed and assigned; regular cleaning out of all solid matter and waste, tree planting along the water source banks, periodic maintenance and beautification of the water source, desilting the open drainage channels that carry storm water, regular patrols to back stop solid waste dumping and, sensitization and awareness campaigns of surrounding communities.

The team was treated to a tour of Nabajuzi water source with the guidance of the NWSC-Plant Engineer, Ibrah Kavuma and the Senior Quality Officer, Kagoda Peter. They gauged the upstream and downstream channels that need cleaning, maintenance and protection and started the day by clearing the garbage around the water source.

The head of the taskforce, a one Mr. Joseph Kasirye, was grateful for the support offered by NWSC and was pleased to find the water treatment plant clean and well maintained. On behalf of the team, Mr. Kasirye pledged commitment towards nurturing the Nabajuzzi water source.

NWSC remains committed to Water for All, for a delighted customer by a delighted workforce.
