NWSC TO BETTER SERVICE DELIVERY THROUGH WORKER’S PRACTICALLY ACQUIRED SKILLS REFRESHER TRAINING

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation embarked on retooling and reskilling of plumbers and plant attendants drawn from Mbale, Kapchorwa and Bukedea areas in a two-day practically acquired skills refresher training, with the aim of enhancing professionalism and effectiveness in service delivery. 

Facilitated by; a one Mr. Ochwo Anthony – Principal Trainer Vocational training skills, Mr. Efearel Solomon Frunk – Instructor and Ms Kulabako Annet – Administrator, the trainees were taken through Water Treatment Plant Operations, Industrial Plumbing, Electro-mechanics, Feacal Sludge Plant Operations, Water Quality, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and, Welding and Fabrication.

The General Manager-Mbale in his closing remarks, appreciated HQ for always ensuring the human resource is trained and kept competitive in the dynamic world. He encouraged the candidates to always grab such opportunities to validate the skills they already have and learn new skills for diversification and multi-tasking.

The VSDF Principal Trainer challenged the candidates to have a complete mindset change if they are to fit in the current dynamic job market and also tasked them with sharing experiences to be better practitioners. “Those who are trained should train others”, said Mr Ochwo.
