NHC AND NWSC COLLABORATION, TO SECURE SUSTAINABLE QUALITY WATER AND SANITATION SERVICES IN KAMPALA

National Housing Corporation (NHC) and National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), have tasked themselves with paving a way forward for the skyrocketing population growth through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two entities on how to plan and serve the ever-increasing population in the greater Kampala Metropolitan.

A team of NWSC supervisors led by the Senior Manager-Sewer Services, Eng. Maiteki hit the field on a feasibility tour of the different proposed and earmarked sites meant for development as guided by the Chief Operations’ Officer, Mr Mubiru Geoffrey and his team from National Housing.

A number of projects that NHC is embarking on this financial year, were visited as they discussed ways in which the two entities can work together to better water and sewerage services in areas within NHC’s jurisdiction.

Some of the sites visited and identified include; Luzira which is expected to house 2500, Bukoto mix- 500, Naalya pride-2500, Bukerere satellite city-30,000 and, Lubowa-10,000 people. The team resolved to share project designs and, work together to ensure that the population in these estates and surrounding areas receive quality water and sewerage services from a delighted workforce.
