In an effort to boost Kampala Water’s (KW) net profit, Eng. Mahmood Lutaaya, the General Manager of KW, delivered an inspiring message to the team during a technical meeting held at the Ggaba Water Treatment Plant. He emphasized the importance of focusing solely on achieving KW’s business resilience by optimizing processes and resources dedicated to service provision.
Eng. Lutaaya, driven by his commitment to business growth, advised the team to eliminate unnecessary expenses to increase revenue. To facilitate better planning, he assigned them the task of providing an updated report on the status of District Metered Areas (DMA) in the region, the operational status of boosters, and a comprehensive report on disconnected accounts across all 28 branches.
The GM further urged them to conduct regular physical inspections of KW operations to address errors resulting from staff complacency and incorrect information sharing within the technical team, among other issues.
With the aim of ensuring tailored services, Eng. Lutaaya challenged the team to develop strategies that would guarantee a consistent water supply, particularly during the dry season. He also emphasized the need for the implementation of these strategies and encouraged the team to share progress reports to facilitate informed decision-making.
The teams in the end agreed to prioritize the corporation’s vision and mission of delivering high-quality services, thereby enhancing customer care and fostering business growth. This collective commitment solidified their dedication to providing excellent service and achieving long-term success.
