Kampala Water’s Legal Advisory team, composed of Advocate Brownie Ebal, Bongomin Emmanuel, and Principal Engineer WALOPU- Francis Omara, along with Security officer Tonny Kim, recently concluded a case against a Rapid Water Seller who was found to have tampered with NWSC infrastructure using a magnet.

The team’s investigation found sufficient evidence to start proceedings, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant for the caretaker of the property. To avoid prosecution and being released on bond, the accused, the landlord, made an on-spot payment of 10 million shillings and entered into an Arrears Payment Agreement.

NWSC Legal is dedicated to reducing non-revenue water, and this case is a testament to their commitment to protecting the Corporation’s infrastructure and ensuring proper payment for water services. The resolution of the Rapid Water Seller case serves as a warning to others who may engage in similar activities, and the team’s efforts are commendable.
