In a bid to improve Supply reliability and stability in Mbale City, the HQ Project and Capacity Development (P&CD) team by the SMIP&D Eng. Denis Taremwa together with Eng. Brenda Owomugisha and Brendah Ninsiima visited Mbale Area with the aim of assessing the possible relocation of Bugiboni water treatment plant which is at the verge of collapsing due to landslides that hit a year ago.

After assessment, the P&CD team looked at proposed locations for relocation during which they met with the land owners.

Eng. Taremwa considered compact water treatment plants as an option for the area as they are more portable and easy to fabricate and install. He also disclosed that the team was to visit the Namatala water intake with the idea that NWSC does its own in-house designs and quicken the tendering and  procurement process in order to address the escalating water crisis in Mbale town.

Also involved in the assessment exercise were; the Mbale General Manager Mr. Badru Wandwasi, SAE-Gilbert Mukago and the Eastern Region Principle-PRO, Ms. Doreen Kapsulel.

NWSC is committed to Water for All.
