The National Water and Sewerage Corporation through Nebbi Area on 17th November 2021 amidst excitement and joy of both the Municipal community and District leadership, handed over two (2) newly constructed water-born toilets to the District administration for further Management.
This is in fulfilment of the NWSC Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the NWSC Managing Director, Dr Eng. Silver Mugisha’s promise to the community during the stakeholders’ engagement meeting during his visit to Nebbi area.
The Area Management team worked tirelessly to deliver this promise to the people in Nebbi.
Upon completion of the project, the stakeholders were invited to an engagement meeting where NWSC-Nebbi Area Management officially handed over the 2 public toilets; with one set up at Nebbi Town Council Mayor’s garden and the other at Thatha Division premises in Nebbi Municipality.
The Area Manager, Mr. Mwesigye Geofrey used the opportunity to appreciate the stakeholders for their cooperation with NWSC and proceeded to share the area background, operations, ongoing projects and activities with the stakeholders, recapping that these are all possible with their total cooperation. Mr. Mwesigye Geofrey urged the local leadership to keep up the same trend for better services to the people of Nebbi.
The occasion was graced by the presence of; the Resident District Commissioner Nebbi District who also was the Chief Guest, Hon. MP Nebbi Municipality, CAO Nebbi District, Chairman LC5 Nebbi District, Lord Mayor Nebbi Municipal Council, several Hon. Councillors from the different Divisions of Nebbi Municipality, and some community members.
A vote of appreciation and gratitude was extended to the NWSC MD, Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha for keeping his promise and as well the Nebbi area team led by Mr. Mwesigye Geofrey for working hard to deliver. The local leaders pledged to manage well and ensure continued management of the new facilities while serving the people.
The Nebbi area team also used the platform to account to the people, hint on ongoing NWSC works to better service in the area and get feedback from stakeholders about the corporation’s services.
