10,000 PEOPLE TO BENEFIT FROM MOYO TOWN COUNCIL WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION PROJECT COMPLETION

The Moyo Water Supply and Sanitation Project funded by the Government of Uganda and KFW was finally commissioned and the beneficiaries were ecstatic.

The Water supply and sanitation bound to cater to the water and sanitation woes of approximately 10,000 people, is characterized by; an office block, two pump stations, reservoir tanks, Public Stand Posts, Moyo Boys School Sanitation facilities and, the Town council public toilet.

The commissioning kicked off with a thorough inspection verifying the status of works completed
and ensure accountability before commissioning. The team also planted trees at the pump stations as part of catchment protection. Upon completion of inspection the team, converged at the NWSC office gardens for the official hand over of the system to National Water and
Sewerage Corporation.

The occasion was graced by the Moyo Resident District Commissioner (Mr. David Modo) as chief guest and attended by officials from the MOWE led by the Commissioner Urban Water Supply (Eng. Matua), Consultant representing KFW – Mr. Dominic, CAO Moyo (Olila Patrick), Town Clerk Moyo Town Council – Chota Vivien, the Urban and Local authorities, NWSC the
press and customer representatives among others.
