The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) recently commissioned a new waterborne toilet system in Parombo, in a ceremony presided over by the Area Manager-Nebbi in conjunction with the Branch Manager-Parombo and SO Nebbi Area with the aim of accelerating access to improved sanitation facilities to the residents of Parombo Town Council.

The initiative stemmed from a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment made by the Managing Director of NWSC during a visit to Nebbi in 2022. This promise has now materialized into a tangible benefit for the people of Parombo, enhancing their quality of life and promoting public health.

The handover ceremony attracted a notable gathering, including the Town Clerk, Mayor of Parombo Town Council, the District Councilor responsible for works and infrastructure, journalists from West Nile TV, the Assistant Health Officer, the LC 1 of Market Square, and several members of the local community where the toilet facility is situated.

In their remarks, both the Town Clerk and LC3 expressed their gratitude to NWSC for fulfilling their pledge to the community of Parombo. They emphasized the importance of responsible usage and maintenance of the newly inaugurated facility, urging the community to take ownership and ensure its sustainability for the benefit of all.

The event also served as an opportunity to acknowledge and commend the efforts of the NWSC team in Parombo as the collaborative spirit between NWSC and the local authorities was highlighted as a cornerstone for effective service delivery in the region. The Town Clerk and LC3 went on to pledge continued cooperation with NWSC to further improve service delivery and address the needs of the community.

Appreciation was extended to the Managing Director, the entire top management team, and the Area staff for their unwavering support and dedication to the successful completion of the project.
