Water Football Club (Water FC) is back in action, revving up their preseason preparations for the eagerly awaited 2023/2024 Kampala Regional League. Set to kick off by the end of this month, the league promises a thrilling and fiercely competitive spectacle for football enthusiasts in Kampala. Water FC, under the astute guidance of Head Coach Mr. Viali Bainomugisha, is poised to leave an indelible mark in the upcoming season.

The preseason this year might have experienced a slight delay compared to the previous season, but Coach Bainomugisha exudes confidence in his technical team’s ability to whip the squad into shape in record time. When addressing the challenges, he remarked, “Our training for this season started a bit later, but we are fully dedicated to ensuring the team’s preparedness. Our goal is unequivocal, and we are steadfast in our pursuit.”

Coach Bainomugisha also took a moment to express his heartfelt appreciation for the unwavering support extended by the management of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC). He emphasized the pivotal role this support plays in sustaining the club’s mission.

In the previous season, Water FC clinched the fourth position in the Scorpion group. However, this season, their primary objective is to advance to the playoff finals and vie for the championship title. The team is resolute in their commitment to elevate their performance and make a statement in the Kampala Regional League.

A standout feature of Water FC is its affiliation with the Corporate Social Initiatives spearheaded by the National Water and Sewerage Corporation. NWSC’s dedication to giving back to the communities it serves shines through initiatives such as Water FC. The club has evolved beyond being just a football team; it has metamorphosed into a catalyst for transformation among the youth.

Today, sports, particularly football, are recognized as potent vehicles for fostering peace and personal growth. NWSC recognizes the profound impact of sports in instilling life skills and offering youth an alternative to crime, violence, and substance abuse. Water FC stands as a beacon of hope in communities like Mbuya, Nakawa, and Luzira, creating a tight-knit community built on values of personal development and physical and mental well-being.

Through their involvement with Water FC, the youth in these areas have not only cultivated a passion for football but have also emerged as ambassadors for positive change. NWSC’s unwavering commitment to nurturing this transformation through sports underscores the profound impact of football that transcends the boundaries of the pitch.

As Water FC embarks on their preseason journey, they carry the aspirations and dreams of their fans, bolstered by the steadfast support of NWSC. The 2023/2024 season promises to be fiercely competitive, but Water FC is prepared to meet the challenges head-on, with the ultimate goal of reaching the playoff finals and etching their name into the annals of Ugandan football history.
