In anticipation of both economic and infrastructural development, Kampala Water’s (KW)-Mukono Branch Manager, Mr. Swithin Busingye accompanied by the Branch Engineer, Ms. Hajjara Birungi, and Billing Officer-Jackson Kwetegyeka, engaged in a rather significant discussion with Vegol Ltd, a consumer goods giant, renowned for its expertise in cooking oil and soap manufacturing.
Notably, Vegol Ltd is currently steering its expansion efforts to align seamlessly with its Kenyan mother company, and is pitching camp in Mukono District.
The heart of Vegol Ltd’s operation lies in its commitment to industrial water cooling, with a monthly consumption of approximately 1500m3. This not only ensures the smooth and secure operation of its equipment but also depicts the company’s dedication to efficiency. However, with growth comes the need for enhanced infrastructure.
As part of its expansion strategy, Vegol Ltd is set to elevate its water storage game by introducing two new reservoirs, each boasting a capacity of 500m3 and 250m3. This visionary move is expected to translate into an upswing in the consumption of NWSC services, painting a lucrative picture of revenue growth for the Mukono Branch.
During the course of the discussion, Vegol Ltd emphasized the necessity for a water supply upgrade, proposing a shift from a 2-inch to a more robust 4-inch pipe. The urgency for this adjustment stems from the company’s reservoirs now lasting up to a commendable three days at full capacity, underscoring the critical need for an efficient water supply infrastructure.
Addressing previous hitches, the branch team highlighted Vegol Ltd’s past struggle with an under-registering meter. A successful upgrade, orchestrated by the combined efforts of the branch, M.A.U, and CSU, followed a meticulous calibration test. This, in essence, reflects Vegol Ltd’s commitment to transparency and operational integrity.
Notably, Vegol Ltd has established a reputation for its prompt bill payments, expressing gratitude for the branch and KW’s swift responses to their concerns. This collaborative spirit between the consumer goods giant and the Mukono Branch sets a positive precedent for mutual growth and prosperity.
With Vegol Ltd on the cusp of commissioning its expanded operations next month, Mukono Branch is brimming with anticipation for customer delight, and business growth.
