URBAN PRO POOR BRANCH ENGAGES STAKEHOLDERS IN PREPARATION FOR UPCOMING AFD VISIT

In preparation for the highly anticipated assessment visit by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), Bassajja Siraggi and Evelyn Mukajusi, the recently appointed Manager of the Urban Pro Poor branch, took proactive steps to engage with stakeholders in Katwe and Kisenyi. As a significant supporter of the KW WATSAN package 5B project, aimed at enhancing water and sanitation infrastructure in Kampala, the AFD’s visit holds immense importance. The visit is scheduled to take place next week on the 21st.

During the forthcoming assessment, the AFD will conduct a benchmark analysis of NWSC’s urban pro poor operations, focusing on the impact of prepaid meters in these communities. This evaluation will involve extensive engagement with stakeholders, including discussions on sanitation projects and interviews with women and vulnerable individuals residing in these areas. The active involvement of stakeholders is vital in ensuring a comprehensive assessment and gathering insights from those directly impacted by the initiatives.
