Professional Associations are important for empowerment and support of particular vocations, interest of individuals engaged and the general public.

In that regard, the National Water and Sewerage Corporation’s (NWSC) Central Support Unit and Legal department met Bulk water sellers to discuss the formulation of Uganda Bulk Water Association. According to key articles in the Associations’ constitution, the Association will ensure quality of water supplied, ring fence the bulk water sellers’ business and avoid illegal water use.

The members will work collaboratively with NWSC and KCCA to grow the association, boost water sales and lead to greater opportunities for all parties involved.

A follow up meeting will be held in the near future to formalize the Bulk Water Association and further collaborations between the Association, NWSC and KCCA.

This is a leap forward for the bulk water sellers and NWSC in negotiating better working conditions.
