The Utility Court last week sentenced two men to one-year imprisonment each on charges of tampering with NWSC works and theft of water pipes.

Segawa Andrew and Ssemugenyi Andrew were arrested in Mpigi district on December 2021 and court dates were slated for later in 2022.

The duo pleaded guilty to the charges in a plea bargain, hence their sentence.

With the Corporation losing billions in economic cases monthly, NWSC hopes that such sentences will send a message to the perpetuators, and save the Corporation losses and extra costs that come with repairing and replacing material.
