In a decisive step toward improving water access in Luweero, stakeholders convened at PRO Industries to advance the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project focused on newly drilled boreholes. The meeting, chaired by the National Water and Sewerage Corporation’s (NWSC) Luweero Area Manager, Daniel Mugoya, and Area Engineer, Nathan Etyang, brought together representatives from UMEME, the contractor, and other key players in the project.

Discussions revolved around technical specifications, including extending electricity to the borehole site and installing critical electromechanical systems. These elements, participants agreed, were essential for the efficient operation of the new facility. By addressing these details collaboratively, stakeholders aimed to ensure that the project remained on track to meet its intended impact.

The team also reviewed the project’s terms of reference, focusing on resource allocation, timelines, and technical requirements. The structured deliberations underscored the importance of aligning priorities and expectations among the partners. A site visit followed the meeting, allowing the team to assess the terrain and identify optimal locations for the construction of the pump house and power infrastructure.

During the visit, the contractor provided a detailed overview of the site conditions, highlighting specific factors that could influence the project’s design and implementation. Their observations added clarity to the planning process, helping to refine strategies for effective execution.

As the groundwork starts to take shape, the project promises to make a lasting difference in the region.
