An effective re-registration of prepaid meter tokens was conducted in the Kitintale area on May 31st, 2023, with a special focus on customers residing in Mtungo, Kitintale, and Mbuya. The registration event, held at Christ’s Church Kitintale, witnessed a significant turnout from the local community.
The primary objective of the re-registration process is to restore connectivity for prepaid meter customers following the system shutdown in August. With a total of 238 customers successfully re-registered, this exercise marks a significant milestone in enhancing access to affordable water for the communities.
Notably, a considerable number of individuals expressed their need for new tokens, and therefore, the exercise will continue on June 1st, 2023 with more customers expected to participate.
The successful execution of this exercise was made possible through the collaboration of the Central Support Unit and the IT department, ensuring a seamless and streamlined process for customers to re-engage with the prepaid metering system.
