National Water and Sewerage Corporation, Ministry of Water and Environment and Water for People held a Kabingo WSS Project site meeting to assess the progress and handle any arising concerns so far of the ongoing Kabingo Water Supply and Sanitation project.

The teams from Water for People and NWSC proceeded to Kyerima Source-Kabuga, for a joint verification exercise to see what needs to be done in order to increase water production especially with the soon to be implemented extension works in Kabuga and Kahunge. A decision was arrived to elevate the pump from a 28m³/hr to 60m³/hr, as well as the transmission/distribution system from 3″ and 4″ to 6″ in the 1st phase, with a possibility of setting up another 100m³ if the need
arises.

The 7bn project has six motorized boreholes and a 192m³ tank that is being constructed in addition to a pipe network of over 80KMs. By the time of commissioning, the system will be serving an initial number of 300 accounts and is targeting to serve a population of 26,000 people in the Sub County. Completion is expected in late February, 2022 and then it will be handed over to NWSC for management.
