P4WATSAN ( PROFESSIONAL WOMEN FOR WATER AND SANITATION ) NUTURE THE ENVIRONMENT TO COMMEMORATE WOMEN’S DAY

To commemorate the International women’s day, the Professional Women for Water and Sanitation (P4WATSAN) focused on environmental conservation through tree planting at the Katosi water treatment plant. The activity, under NWSC’s Tree-volution campaign which aims to plant 10million trees, follows on activities undertaken on 8th March.

Under the theme ‘climate change and the role of women in mitigation, adaptation and response in Uganda’, the tree planting activity championed by Senior Manager Kampala Eastern Zone – Ms. Sarah Namuwenge witnessed about 600 trees planted.  The ladies then took a tour of the plant to create a deeper appreciation of it.

With an objective of promoting and contributing to national and international initiatives of water and sanitation on matters of mutual interest, P4WATSAN’s engagement gave a boost to Tree-volution’s goal of planting 10 million trees within five years through today’s activity.
