Residents of Bukedea District have reason to jubilate as the Ministry of Water and Environment earlier this week implemented the Bukedea Gravity Flow Scheme(GFS) through Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department with funding from/by the African Development Bank.

The Gravity Flow Scheme which covers sixteen (16) sub-counties in the Districts of Kapchorwa, Bulambuli, Sironko and Bukedea, happens to be the largest gravity water system not only in the Mt. Elgon region but also, Uganda at large.

By 2025, the overall project will be providing access to safe clean water to more than 262,343 people in the region.
