NWSC’S NANSANA BRANCH ENGAGES KEY STAKEHOLDERS

Key stakeholder opinions and insights are incredibly valuable, just as a shared understanding is essential to building a vision for the future of an Organisation. This is something Nansana
Branch has mastered as they hosted key stakeholders; the District Police Commander-Nansana, Agaba Ignitius and Local Councils (LCs) with the aim of discussing a number of issues “water supply related” among which included; vandalism of NWSC property, tariff structure, non-
revenue water, importance of paying water bills and more.

The DPC was undoubtedly impressed with the Branch for keeping in touch with its Stakeholders
especially the Local Council who are a key element in bridging the gap between the corporation
and the customers. He tasked the Local Councils to always report those who engage in water
theft and vandalism of installations and also directed them to help prosecute the culprits with
the help of their local defence persons. Mr. Agaba pledged to support NWSC in the fight against water theft and vandalism of NWC property.

The Local Chairpersons once given the floor to speak called for; reconnection of the Suppressed
PSPs in the congested villages, reduction of VAT on water charges, investigation into taps that
run air after long periods without water, which raises bills, follow physical plan during lines extension to avoid damage during development and road grading, introduction of prepaid meters to reduce unpaid bills, introduction of Territory teams to Local Councils for easy collaboration and, connection of a sewer network to the fast growing municipality.

The Branch Manager Nansana – Ms. Caroline Among accompanied by Sub-Branch Manager
Naluvule, Ms. Gloria Najjemba and the Branch surveyor, Mr. Rutaro Herbert were in attendance to respond to any queries and convey all NWSC related information needed. One can indeed say, the engagement acted as a bridge between the community and the Organization to get constructive feedback for improvement of services.
