NWSC’S “LEADERS ARE LEARNERS” BOOK CLUB FELLOWSHIP GIVES INSIGHTS INTO NAVIGATING THE EVER-CHANGING WORKPLACE

In the realm of corporate dynamism and adaptability, the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) took a monumental stride with the establishment of the “Leaders are Learners Book Club” (LLC). Recently, the book club held an assembly in the first-ever all-encompassing online Fellowship. The results of this fellowship are nothing short of remarkable, considering the attendance and the distinguished guest speaker who graced the occasion.

The theme that set the stage for this enlightening gathering was “Resilience Leadership: How to Navigate the Ever-Changing Workplace Environment.” To illuminate this concept, the chosen book of reference was “The Power of Passion and Perseverance” by Angella Durkwoth.

Among the notable attendees was Eng. Mahmood Lutaaya, the Club’s patron and General Manager of Kampala Water. In his address, Eng. Lutaaya emphasized the significance of maintaining a positive attitude at work, a quality essential for weathering any storm that comes one’s way. Resilience leadership, he explained, entails adaptability and innovation to find solutions to the myriad of challenges faced in the workplace.

The Guest Speaker, Hon. Joyce Nalunga Birimumaaso, a Member of the Leadership Code Tribunal and President of the Female Lawyers Network, delivered a powerful and enlightening address, emphasizing a number of insights that include but are not limited to: the fact that Leaders are Knowledgeable which is essential for the growth and progress of a corporation like NWSC, Positive Thinking, Innovation and Creativity, Avoiding toxic associations, Handling CriticismSetting Goals and Targets, Mentorship, and Integrity and Visionary Leadership. 

The fellowship concluded on a high note, and the “Leaders are Learners” Club extends heartfelt gratitude to all those who dedicated their time to attend. Special appreciation goes to the active participants whose engagement enriched the fellowship. Additionally, the LLC Executive Committee is commended for their efficient organization of the event.
