Once again, the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has firmly established its dominance in the realm of service delivery and customer satisfaction. This resounding achievement was unequivocally reaffirmed as the NWSC Board of Directors convened with Jinja City’s eminent leaders, including RCC Jinja City’s Mr. Darrius Nandida, Town Clerk Mr. John Choli, and DPC Jinja Mr. Innocent Tusiime. In a harmonious chorus of praise, these leaders lauded NWSC’s exceptional performance in Jinja, which has propelled the standard of service delivery and customer contentment to unprecedented heights.

The RCC of Jinja City, Mr. Darrius Nandida, extended a hearty welcome to the NWSC team, expressing their privilege in hosting the corporation’s top-tier representatives. He took pride in highlighting how the incumbent Board, led by Eng. Dr. Badru Kiggundu, was a testament to the right choice made by His Excellency the President of Uganda. He commended the Board for its visionary and strategic leadership, evident in the exceptional quality of services NWSC is extending to all Ugandans. He recalled his experience attending the NWSC@50 Celebrations in Kololo, remarking on the impressive manner in which NWSC has expanded its services nationwide. He thanked NWSC for playing a pivotal role in Jinja City’s socioeconomic transformation through the provision of reliable water and sewerage services. A gracious nod was also extended to the NRM Government for fostering a culture of support and accountability that spurs entities like NWSC to excel in service delivery.

Following in the footsteps of commendation, the Town Clerk, Mr. John Choli, echoed his appreciation for NWSC, citing his encounters with various entities over time. He acknowledged NWSC as a unique standout, an institution that has become the gold standard for efficiently managed government bodies. Mr. Choli extended gratitude to the Board for creating an environment that nurtures and empowers young and dynamic managers to spearhead NWSC’s operations within their designated areas. A special mention was reserved for the indefatigable efforts of Dr. Charles Okuonzi, the GM of Jinja, and his dedicated team, who have diligently served the residents of Jinja. Mr. Choli’s address culminated in a plea for additional projects to expand the water production and distribution infrastructure, a need heightened by Jinja’s rapid growth and that of its surrounding areas.

In response, the NWSC delegation, under the stewardship of Board Chairman Eng. Dr. Badru Kiggundu, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the leaders of Jinja City for their warm reception and insightful feedback. Dr. Kiggundu underscored NWSC’s unwavering focus on its customers, highlighting the significance of stakeholder reviews and candid input. Adding his perspective, Col. Stephen Basaliza, a NWSC Board Member, extended gratitude to the City leaders for their invaluable time dedicated to meeting with the Board. He perceived this collective effort as a powerful symbol of teamwork. Col. Basaliza acknowledged the indispensable support that the leaders have consistently lent to NWSC, underscoring the pivotal role collaboration plays in the Corporation’s success. He rallied the leaders to forge ahead in the battle against the growing menace of water infrastructure vandalism, acknowledging that NWSC’s impact cannot be realized in isolation. Concluding on a resolute note, Col. Basaliza pledged unwavering support for the expansion of infrastructure in Jinja and its environs, vowing to passionately advocate for additional projects and financing to fuel sustained growth.
