The African Water Association (AfWA) has voted Kampala, Uganda as the host of the AfWA Congress and Exhibition-2025 slated for February of the same year.
The AfWA came to this agreement during its Annual General Boarding Meeting held on Saturday 18 February 2023, at Sofitel Hotel Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
To double the win for the Pearl of Africa, the National Water and Sewerage Corporation’s (NWSC) Dr. Eng Silver Mugisha was also reelected as the President of the African Water Association (AfWA) after completing his maiden two-year term 2020-2023 making him the first Ugandan to steer the congress for two terms in a row.
Notably, Kampala impressively hosted the AfWA Congress and Exhibition 2020 while celebrating 40 years of existence in the water and sanitation sector in Africa. The event focused on innovative solutions to; Water Management, Sanitation Management, Capacity Building, Financing, Research and Innovation, and Governance & Regulation in the African water and sanitation sector.
