Following several outcries from the leaders and the general public to the National Water and Sewerage Corporation to save the water-stressed Jokello, the NWSC Kapeeka team together with the HQ team on 28th July 2022, visited Jokello to profile it for a water extension.

With the freshly completed water supply improvement intervention which included a bulk water transfer from the Kapeeka treatment plant supply which is boosted by a 60m3 sump to a 162m3 tank in Kituuma respectively, water couldn’t flow by gravity to Jokello due to the high elevation difference hence need for a mini water supply system.

The team visited the proposed sites for the sump and tank and is now working on a detailed plan to ensure that the work is expedited.

Bukomero branch presently has a lot of water following the completion of works of a bulk water transfer from Kapeeka. Therefore, the Area plans to ensure that the water benefits the community through extensions to the water-stressed areas and also guarantee a return on investment by increasing the number of connections and billing.
