NWSC STRENGTHENS COLLABORATION WITH MAYOR OF MPIGI TOWN

A team from the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) led by the Senior Manager Operations-Central Region, Eng. Moses Bigabwa recently paid a courtesy call on Mayor David Muteebi of Mpigi Town, expressing gratitude for his unwavering support towards the NWSC Mpigi team. During the meeting, Eng. Bigabwa emphasized the corporation’s vital role in providing essential services and commended the Mayor for his continuous assistance. Eng. Bigabwa highlighted the shared responsibility of all public servants in serving the people of Uganda, emphasizing the unity between NWSC and the Mayor’s office. He expressed gratitude for the Mayor’s consistent presence whenever assistance was required, underscoring the importance of collaboration. To enhance communication and keep stakeholders informed about planned activities and interventions, such as road grading that may affect water supply services, Eng. Bigabwa encouraged the formation of a water users committee.

In response, Mayor David Muteebi expressed his appreciation for NWSC’s efficient service provision, emphasizing their shared objective of serving the people. Recognizing the significant demand for water in Mpigi, with current coverage limited to around 50% of the town, the Mayor requested NWSC to expand the water network to benefit more
residents. He assured NWSC of maximum support from the district leadership, emphasizing the positive relationship between the two entities.

Concluding his remarks, Mayor Muteebi praised the NWSC Mpigi Office for its prompt response to leakage issues, commending them as exemplary ambassadors of service delivery. He expressed gratitude for their continuous engagement with customers, recognizing their commitment to resolving water-related concerns.

This meeting reinforces their collaborative efforts in delivering essential services to the people of Uganda. The commitment and mutual support expressed during the meeting are vital in achieving the goal of expanding the water network and improving access for a greater number of residents in Mpigi Town.
