The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) Kakumiro Area presented its water supply stabilization strategies at the Kakumiro District Local Government Budget Conference for the 2025/26 financial year. The event, attended by a diverse range of stakeholders, provided a platform for NWSC to showcase its progress and plans in alignment with its Corporate Plan 2024–2027.
Representing NWSC, Area Manager Mr. Godfrey Tumuhairwe highlighted key achievements from the 2023/24 fiscal year, ongoing initiatives for 2024/25, and proposed measures for 2025/26. Emphasizing the Corporation’s focus on stabilizing water supply, Mr. Tumuhairwe reechoed NWSC’s commitment to ensuring sustainable access to water services for all residents in the district.
The conference brought together an array of participants, including the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Deputy RDC, Assistant RDC, Local Council V Chairperson, and the district’s technical team, led by the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Other attendees included the District Police Commander (DPC), religious leaders, LCIII Chairpersons, civil society organizations (CSOs), and representatives of implementing partners.
Stakeholders commended NWSC’s ongoing efforts to enhance water supply and pledged their support for the Corporation’s initiatives. The conference concluded with a shared commitment among stakeholders to work collectively towards achieving Kakumiro’s development goals, with water supply stabilization remaining a top priority.
