Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha, the Managing Director of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), has reaffirmed his commitment to community development by donating 3 million shillings to support a mobilization workshop for Women Celebration in Mbale City.

The funds will facilitate a training workshop focused on enterprise selection, financial literacy, and value addition for women’s groups, vendors, Village Health Teams (VHTs), and women leaders. This workshop is part of the preparations for this year’s belated Women’s Day celebrations in Mbale City, scheduled for June 15th, 2024.

This initiative is in line with NWSC’s broader corporate social responsibility efforts.

Hon. Lydia Wanyoto, the Chairperson of the NRM Women’s League, expressed her gratitude upon receiving the donation from Mr. Badru Wandwasi, General Manager of NWSC’s Mbale Area. She acknowledged the support as a significant effort to uplift and recognize the vital contributions of women in Mbale City.

In her remarks, Hon. Wanyoto praised Dr. Mugisha’s leadership, noting that under his guidance, NWSC has achieved notable advancements in service delivery, infrastructure development, and customer satisfaction. She emphasized that his strategic vision and unwavering commitment to excellence have been crucial in propelling the organization forward.

NWSC is committed to social responsibility and often sets a positive example of corporate leadership in supporting community initiatives and fostering women empowerment.
