The festive season is upon us, and the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) under the leadership of its Managing Director, Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha is gearing up to make it a time of uninterrupted joy for its valued customers. With a firm commitment to providing reliable and high-quality services, the entire NWSC team, from the Board and Management to the dedicated staff, is working tirelessly to ensure water supply remains uninterrupted throughout the season.
As a matter of fact in a recent announcement, Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha introduced a one-month amnesty for customers with illegal connections. The initiative aimed to provide customers with the opportunity to voluntarily regularize their water connections without facing penalties. Although the response was not as vibrant as expected, NWSC is extending this amnesty until December 31, 2023. The corporation’s technical teams, in collaboration with the Uganda Police Force, are actively identifying and addressing defiant culprits, as Dr. Silver continued to urge customers to take advantage of this extended amnesty to ensure compliant water connections.
NWSC has consistently emphasized the importance of settling outstanding bills promptly to avoid water supply interruptions. Disconnection for non-payment is a measure the corporation prefers not to take, valuing its esteemed customers. However, instances of customers resorting to bribery to delay disconnections have been noted. Dr. Silver emphasized the criminal nature of such actions and urged customers to clear outstanding bills promptly to enjoy uninterrupted water supply during the festive season.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the NWSC management and staff, Dr. Silver extended sincere thanks to the public, research institutions, and analytical minds that have taken the time to analyze the corporation’s service offerings and plans. Recognition through various awards, including Best Visionary Utility Government Agency of the year, KACITA- Best Government Institution in Service Delivery, HiPipo Best Utilities and Government Services Digital Excellence Award, and the Best Digital Campaign Award, has not only honored the utility but also boosted the emotional quotient of the NWSC team. Dr. Silver emphasized that such recognition fuels the corporation’s commitment to continuous improvement, expressing immense gratitude for the diverse gestures of support.
“As we look forward to a joyous and uninterrupted festive season, NWSC appreciates the cooperation and support of our valued customers. Your adherence to these updates ensures a hassle-free water supply during this special time of the year. Thank you for being an integral part of the NWSC family,” stated Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha.
