NWSC IS INTENTIONAL WITH HER DO IT FOR YOURSELF APPROACH – ENG MAHMOOD LUTAAYA

Kigali – During a panel discussion on the sidelines of the International Water Association (IWA) Water and Development Congress & Exhibition in Kigali, Rwanda, Kampala Water General Manager Eng Mahmood Lutaaya, a panelist, on the pipes and pixels high level session shared the NWSC digitalization agenda.

The discussion on catalysts, enablers, and innovations driving digitization of WATSAN service providers attracted utility leaders, developers of utility systems, water, and sanitation experts, among others.

In his presentation, Eng Mahmood Lutaaya shared NWSC’s success stories, plans for the future, and lessons learned.

“At NWSC, our approach is to do it yourself. We benchmark, build our own digital solutions, and use it internally.” he said

He positioned NWSC as the leading utility in digitization, with a “do it ourselves approach.”

He urged African utilities to benchmark and design solutions that will impact and resolve their problems.

“What these developers can do, we Africans can do as well.” he stated.

It should be noted that almost all, if not 6 out of 8 panelists, praised NWSC, a benchmark for digitalization in Africa and the world.

In attendance, NWSC MD Dr. Eng Silver Mugisha re echoed NWSC’s digitalization agenda, noting that Utilities of the future are those that identify their own problems and devise means of solving them.
