In a remarkable partnership aimed at enhancing the lives of the people of Ibanda District, the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) Ibanda has joined forces with the Corporate Club of Ibanda Area to provide safe and clean water to Rwobozizi Trading Center.

The ambitious project involves the extension of 200 meters of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) 2″ pipes and the construction of a modern public kiosk in Rwobuziizi Trading Center, located within the vibrant NSASI Ibanda Municipality. To appreciate the magnitude of this endeavor, it’s essential to recognize the groundwork laid by NWSC, which includes approximately 6 kilometers of pipe networks and the activation of water lines as part of the Mukazi Anyara water project. These efforts have significantly bolstered the water supply in Ibanda Municipality, contributing an impressive one million liters of water per day.

At the launch event, Mr. Arinaitwe Julius K.K., President of the Corporate Club, expressed heartfelt appreciation to NWSC for its dedication to expanding water services to all corners of the community. He emphasized the critical role that this partnership plays in addressing the pressing water needs of Rwobuziizi, where access to a reliable water source has long been a challenge.

Mr. Ongwech George, Area Manager of NWSC Ibanda and Director of Services in the Corporate Club, echoed this sentiment. He commended the Corporate Club for its visionary approach in collaborating with NWSC to serve the community. Mr. George assured the residents of Rwobuziizi that NWSC’s commitment to providing continuous water supply is unwavering. Furthermore, he highlighted the affordability of the service, with NWSC charging a mere Ugx 25/= per jerrycan of water, ensuring that clean water is accessible to everyone.

The support for this transformative initiative extended far beyond the partners involved. The Honorable Councilors, LC Chairpersons, and the entire Rwobuziizi community warmly welcomed and blessed the project. For them, this venture represents the realization of a long-standing dream, a dream that promises to improve their quality of life significantly.

The ripple effect of this endeavor will undoubtedly leave a lasting positive impact on the people of Ibanda District, reaffirming the importance of access to clean water as a basic human right.

NWSC remains committed to “Water for All”.
