NWSC Hands Over Sanitation Project to The Municipal Council, Rukungiri

National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has always integrated social and environmental concerns in its business operations and interactions with stakeholders and, addressed their expectations of the corporation.

The most recent of these integrations was done by the NWSC team in Rukingiri after the Rukungiri Area Manager – Sam Kiggundu, on behalf of NWSC, handed over Two (2) public toilets to Rukungiri Municipal Council team.

The toilets were donated by the Managing Director – Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha to the Municipality during his recent visit to the area.

In his remarks, the Mayor thanked the Managing Director NWSC, Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha for his generosity and support towards the good sanitation and development of Rukungiri district. He also appreciated the Area Manager for ensuring good workmanship on the public toilets’ construction and the good water services rendered to the people of Rukungiri and, encouraged his fellow team members to take very good care of the facilities received.

Representing the Municipal Council team were; the Municipality Mayor – Mr. Charles Makuru together with the Town Clerk, Municipal Principal Health Officer, the Municipal engineer, the Principal treasurer, councilors and other Municipal technocrats.

The 2 facilities are located at the Municipal main offices and Ntungamo trucks and taxi stage respectively. These facilities will greatly improve the sanitation in the ever growing town of
Rukungiri.
