The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) Moyo Area has joined forces with Moyo Town Council leadership to find lasting solutions to the water challenges faced by traders and customers in Moyo Central Market.
During a recent field visit, NWSC Moyo Area Manager, Mr Arima Isa, and Area Engineer, Mr Mugondi, teamed up with the Mayor of Moyo Town Council, Hon. Chandiga Ceasor, to assess the situation on the ground, which provided an opportunity to identify priority areas that require urgent attention to improve water access and service delivery in the market.
Among the key concerns raised was the need to strengthen internal market systems, expand connections to the NWSC grid to ease shortages, and carry out a comprehensive assessment of the existing infrastructure to determine areas that need upgrading. The discussions also explored sustainable solutions to ensure a steady, long-term water supply.
Both NWSC and the Town Council conveyed a commitment to working closely together to deliver practical interventions that will improve service delivery and support the market community with reliable access to clean water.
The partnership is expected to nurture collective problem-solving and sustained cooperation, ultimately enhancing the market’s capacity to serve as a safe and reliable hub for trade in the region.
