NWSC AND GULU CITY OFFICIALS DISCUSS PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AND PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE

The Area Manager of Gulu, Mr. Fred Businge, paid a courtesy call on Gulu City Mayor Alfred Okwonga, during which they discussed a wide range of issues, including NWSC-Gulu City relations and potential mutually beneficial partnerships with National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC).

During the visit, Mr. Busingye briefed the Mayor on NWSC’s progress in the city and emphasized the ongoing long-term solution of bringing water from Karuma to Gulu. He underscored the importance of continuing to work together and counted on the support of the Mayor’s office.

The Area Manager stated that his visit was intended to establish a personal relationship between NWSC and Gulu City, which would enable them to partner in mutually beneficial programs and projects. Mayor Alfred welcomed the Area Manager and emphasized the importance of planning together. He assured Mr. Busingye that his office is always open and committed to collaborating with NWSC.

Mayor Alfred further tasked NWSC to develop a five-year plan for the City, which would be incorporated into the City’s master plan, and urged them to work closely with the City Physical Planning Department.

Both the Area Manager and the Mayor agreed to be actively engaged, particularly in the area of planning together. Also present during the meeting was the City Finance Officer, Mr. Dennis Okot.

Overall, the meeting was productive and laid the groundwork for continued collaboration and partnership between NWSC and Gulu City.
