MUBENDE AREA RAISES THE BAR IN NWSC GREEN TREEVOLUTION CAMPAIGN.

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation’s Mubende Area has taken the Tree Planting Campaign to another level by planting 14,000 trees in only a couple of days. The team partnered with the Ntugamo 4th Batallion CMRC of the Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF) and Answered Prayer Nursing School to plant an extra 7,000 trees a day after planting an equivalent with various schools in the area. 

The UPDF Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Zubairi Ssekajja thanked the Management of NWSC for the great initiative of championing the planting of trees. He reiterated that the Army as an institution is committed to environmental protection, and is always happy when they get like-minded partners like NWSC.

The NWSC Area Manager showed appreciation towards the Partners for always responding to the corporation’s call. He pledged to continue working with them to ensure that the 40,000 trees assigned to the area are planted by the set deadline. He also pointed out that the Tree Planting exercise is meant to mobilize communities to sustainably manage the environment and protect water catchment areas.

Senior Public Relations Officer-Central Region, Miss. Cream Ninsiima, appreciated the Administrators of the two Institutions for embracing the Campaign. She elaborated on how trees affect the water cycle, while emphasizing that a tree planted is a future saved.

The pace set by Mubende area is bound to see them arrive at the set goals to plant 40,000 trees by the end of July.
