As the financial year 2022/2023 comes to a close, Kampala Water (KW) has much to celebrate. Despite a challenging economic climate, the corporation has managed to accomplish remarkable achievements. In a concerted effort to enhance customer-centricity, increase assets, and improve services, the HQ team, led by Deputy Managing Director- Technical Services Eng. Johnson Amayo and Senior Director Engineering Services Eng. Alex Gisagara, alongside General Manager of Kampala Water Eng. Mahmood Lutaaya and the Kampala Water technical team, recently gathered at NWSC’s head offices in Nakasero. 

Eng. Amayo commended Eng. Lutaaya’s dedication to expanding KW’s business and tackling the challenge of Non-Revenue Water (NRW) in the region. Highlighting the significance of digitalization, he emphasized its role as a powerful tool for enhancing efficiency and productivity. Eng Amayo encouraged the team to establish a robust and reliable customer base by actively listening to their concerns and responding in a professional manner.

Eng. Gisagara urged the team to set aside personal differences and prioritize collaboration. He emphasized the numerous benefits that arise from working in a symbiotic environment, where ideas flow freely and team members support one another. By fostering unity and cooperation, the team would be better equipped to overcome challenges and achieve their objectives.

Commitment to Equitable Service Delivery and Growth Inspired by the compelling speeches of their colleagues, Eng. Lutaaya made a resolute pledge to maintain an equitable and high-quality service delivery to KW’s valued customers. Recognizing the importance of customer satisfaction and growth, he outlined the corporation’s dedication to ensuring reliable supply and reducing NRW to a minimum of 35%. Eng. Lutaaya also stressed the significance of effective communication between departments and proper management of NWSC-KW’s boosters, reservoirs, and assets.

Rebuilding Resilience and Individual Development as the financial year transitions, NWSC-KW has set ambitious goals for the future. Alongside rebuilding the resilience of their economy and cracking down on NRW, they prioritize individual development among their team members.
