To demonstrate the true essence of Ramdan, the Kireka branch alongside the Ayitah Charity Foundation came together to share a sumptuous meal with the Muslim community in Kasokoso, marking the global celebration of Eid Mubarak. This gracious event traditionally concludes the sacred month of Ramadan, during which Muslims devote themselves to fasting, and engaging in acts of kindness while renewing their faith, for thirty days as a spiritual practice.

Over a hundred members of the Muslim community were treated to a well-prepared feast, complemented by some refreshing K-Water mineral water (a product of the NWSC). The gesture, perceived by both the Ayitah Charity Foundation and the Kasokoso Muslims, was hailed as an expression of kindness and compassion of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC).

The team leader of the Ayitah Charity Foundation expressed appreciation to NWSC for consistently prioritizing service beyond self, and extended prayers for abundant blessings upon the leadership of and staff of the corporation. “We have collaborated with National Water on various CSR initiatives, and their unwavering support has been instrumental,” she affirmed.

Ms. Maureen Okama, the Branch manager of the Kireka Service Center, congratulated the Muslim community on the successful completion of Ramadan, and restated NWSC’s commitment to providing exemplary service with warmth and dedication. Emphasizing the company’s code of unity and solidarity, she highlighted the importance of celebrating customers as a belief in fostering harmony, not only within the workforce but also among stakeholders. Addressing the persistent challenge of Non-Revenue Water (NRW) in Kireka, she implored the community to serve as ambassadors and report instances contributing to NRW, thereby facilitating resource conservation for broader service expansion.

In a show of gratitude, Hajji Ali, the Chairman of LCI Kasokoso, extended appreciation to NWSc for their compassionate gesture and the essential services they render to the community. He pledged continued collaboration in addressing NRW and advocated for prompt bill clearance to maintain a zero balance, urging fellow Muslims to uphold the values of Ramadan in their daily lives as a means of contributing positively to Uganda.

This was a reminder of the power of collective goodwill and cooperation in building stronger, and more inclusive communities.
