KATALE SUB-BRANCH EMBROILS STAKEHOLDERS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST NON REVENUE WATER

A great way of gaining community trust is by getting stakeholders involved and keeping them in the know of ongoing projects and programmes.

Accordingly, Katale Sub-Branch hosted community leaders at the Branch offices to keep them up to par with NWSC services.

Among the things discussed were: the tariff structure, new connection procedure and, the importance of paying water bills. Major emphasis was however made on non-revenue water, which causes the Corporation up to approximately 43.7% losses in the greater Kampala Metropolitan alone.

The community leaders noted some brick makers contribute to water losses through theft.  They urged staff to carry out their investigations on the latter while they keep an eye out on such culprits within the community and pledged their full support to NWSC and the fight against non-revenue water through sensitizing the communities and naming any culprits.
