Kampala Water has successfully commissioned the Wankulukuku-Mutundwe project. The project which is aimed at intensifying water supply in the areas of Kyengera, Nsangi, and the surrounding areas, comes as a response to water scarcity in the aforementioned areas, which had forced residents to look for other alternatives such as collecting water from trenches and unprotected wells, exposing themselves to waterborne diseases like typhoid and diarrhea.
The project involved laying a 2km DN250 pumping main and pump isolation, an impressive feat that underscores KW’s commitment to providing reliable water supply to its customers.
The commissioning of the project was officiated by the Senior Manager Water Supply, Eng. Francis Kateeba, and witnessed by Network Manager WEZ-Mr. Moses Nandigobe, Branch Manager Kyengera-Ms. Peninah Nabireeba, Branch Manager Nateete-Alfred Rukuuka, Branch Engineer- Aaron, and the network team led by Ronald Bbosa.
The newly completed project is set to boost water supply in areas of Mutundwe, Nakimese, Budo, Kyengera, Nateete, and the surrounding areas, providing much-needed relief to residents who have been grappling with water scarcity for an extended period.
This project represents a significant milestone in KW’s efforts to provide reliable and sustainable water supply to its customers, while also contributing to the broader goal of water security in the region.
