GoU – FRENCH GOVERNMENT, PARTNER TO BUILD CAPACITY OF GOVERNMENT SPOKESPERSONS

Following a successful Leadership training program at Kyankwanzi, the Government of Uganda through the French Embassy has organized a French language course for a select group of Government of Uganda Communicators. 

The select team will attend French classes at Alliance française, Kampala and, later go for practical lessons as well as meet Government of France Communicators in Paris, France through an exchange programme.

Speaking at the event held at the residence of the French Ambassador to Uganda, the host, H.E Ambassador Jules-Armand Aniambossou and the sector Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Chris Baryomunsi charged the Communicators to embrace new knowledge and explore new opportunities.

“We want to have a French-speaking Communicator in at least every Government institution as we continue to promote culture, trade, socio-economic development among other matters of mutual interest,” Hon Baryomunsi said. 

Ambassador Jules-Armad said that French is one of the global languages that every Communicator should learn and further shared that his embassy and him, in particular, will always be open to the select team.

In his address, the Ambassador highlighted partnerships through GoU agencies like NWSC among others that have strengthened bilateral relationships that have cemented the relationship between the two countries.

From the Water and Environment sector, the NWSC Principle Digital Marketing Officer, John Fisher Sekabira, was selected to represent in the first cohort.
