In a bid to improve water services and accessibility in Kisoga, the Mbalala team, in collaboration with the local community, recently organized a sensitization event. The event, held in Kisoga town council, introduced the services of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), and the highlight of the gathering was the announcement by the General Manager (GM)-Kampala Water, Eng. Mahmood Lutaaya, regarding the opening of a new office in Kisoga town council on Monday, February 5th, 2024.

Addressing the attendees, Eng. Lutaaya emphasized the NWSC’s commitment to enhancing the sub-branch’s network by laying new lines. He also hinted on the importance of efficient customer service, assuring the community that new connections would be expedited, with a target of completing them within three days after payment.

The Branch Manager Mbalala, Mr. Abby Sserunkuma, tackled concerns raised by community members regarding delayed connections. He attributed the primary challenge to the long distance but assured that this issue would be resolved with the commencement of laying new pipes. The promise of a streamlined process was made, aimed at ensuring a smoother experience for customers.

During the event, the LC 1 chairperson rallied the community to support the trench works, emphasizing the collective effort required for the betterment of Kisoga. This call to action signifies a significant step towards realizing enhanced water services and improved accessibility in the area.

Notably, the timely intervention is expected to alleviate longstanding issues such as delayed connections and inadequate infrastructure. With work set to commence imminently, the anticipation for positive change is palpable among Kisoga residents.

As the new office prepares to open its doors, there is optimism that it will serve as a catalyst for further development initiatives in the region. The commitment demonstrated by NWSC and the active involvement of the community signal a promising future for Kisoga, where access to clean and reliable water supply is no longer a distant aspiration but a tangible reality.
