Apac’s Chegere Project is progressing rather well as the area has now embarked on trenching activities to lay down 4-inch UPVC pipes DN 100 PN 10 in the initial phase of the project.

In a bid to enhance the stability of water supply within the area the trenching initiative kicked off over the weekend and is currently underway with promising progress, and with a deadline set for completion by February 29th, the team is working diligently to meet the established timeline.

Covering a distance of 4 kilometers, the trenching operation spans from the Chegere reservoir, extending through the Owanga trading center, and reaching towards APAC town. The primary objective is to establish connectivity with the APAC distribution network, thereby fortifying the water supply not only within APAC main but also in the neighboring arid communities.

As of the latest update on February 20th, approximately 1.5 kilometers of trenching has been successfully completed out of the targeted 1.8 kilometers. However, the team remains resolute in their efforts to exceed expectations, aiming to achieve a minimum of 2.5 kilometers by the week’s end. More to it, utmost attention is being paid to ensure that the depth of the trenches adheres to the prescribed standards, emphasizing the commitment to quality and long-term reliability.
