ANOTHER WIN; KACITA NWSC AWARDS NWSC BEST GOVERNMENT INSTITUTION IN SERVICE DELIVERY AWARD

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) won a prestigious award for the Best/Most Improved Government Agency in Service Delivery at the Annual KACITA Awards Gala-2023, hosted at Motiv Hotel in Bugolobi.

The event themed “Embracing Diversity Amidst Sustainable Trade through Research and Awareness,” was graced by the Executive Director Finance-Bank of Uganda Mr. Richard Byarugaba, as Guest of Honor, as KACITA celebrated and recognized innovation and creativity, growth and diversity, excellence in service delivery, successful entrepreneurs, Industries, manufacturers and government agencies that have enabled this growth and development in the business sector.

Notably, for the past 50 years NWSC’s unwavering dedication has not only transformed the water and sanitation landscape by providing clean and reliable water supply to manufacturing industries and business communities but has become a beacon of hope for communities through providing affordable water by installing Psp’s, PPM, charged at as low as Ugx25 a 20liter jerrycan, aimed to serve the people in informal settlements, extension of water distribution system, connection of customers to sewer lines among other innovative technologies aimed to embrace good and quality service delivery to customers.

Amidst the applause, the award was handed over to the NWSC team by the chairman of Kampala City Traders’ Association (KACITA), Thaddeus Musoke Nagenda. 

Ms. Vivien Newumbe, the Manager Public Relations-Kampala Water in her remarks asserted that the Corporation is not merely delivering water but tailors an experience where the needs and comforts of their customers are used as guiding notes to render services under the admirable strategic leadership of the NWSC Board and Management team. She dedicated the award to NWSC customers who pay their bills to zero balance, those who report leaks and bursts and those who don’t engage in any illegal water use as these enable reliable and sustainable excellence in service delivery.

In attendance to receive the award was; Ms Anette Kukunda-Senior manager CBD, Eng. Moses Nandigobe-Manager Network WEZ, Ms. Barbra Ariho-Branch Manager Kisenyi, and PRO-KW-Ms. Josephine Lunkuse.

Note, KACITA is a business support association in Uganda, established and registered in 2001, whose main aim is to facilitate trade, bring together the business community, and mobilize them into a viable, organized and social sustainable marketplace.
