Given the successful 2020 Africa Water Association Congress and Exhibition hosted in Kampala, National Water & Sewerage Corporation’s Water Quality assurance and a thriving Young Water Professionals (YWPs), NWSC was a benchmarking platform with the representatives underscoring the different aspects that make the corporation stand out.

The event attracted about 200 delegates from 17 African and European countries, notable among them; the Ivorian Minister of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Mr. Bouaké Fofana, Dr. Papa Samba Diop, President of the Scientific and Technical Council, the Managing Director of SODECI, Mr. Ahmadou Bakayoko, Mr. Sylvain Usher, Executive Director of AfWA, Dr. Rose Kaggwa Director Business and Scientific Services, Mahmood Lutaya GM-Kampala Water and the Senior Manager Water Quality, Dr. Irene Birungi.

“The importance of Water and Sanitation” formed the basis of the meeting as delegates praised Africa for coming thus far and bearing the quality resources to solve the challenges met and promote access to drinking water and sanitation services.

Discussions were held on topics of Water Quality Management, Non-Revenue Water Management, Sustainable Production, Energy use and Maintenance, Climate Change and Resources Management, ICT and digitalization during the second day of the event.

The meeting undoubtedly exposed NWSC to other utilities and positioned the brand as the leading Water Utility in the World.
