Residents of Kisoga, Ntenjeru, Nsanja, and Katosi are set to experience a significant improvement in their water supply, thanks to an ambitious pipeline extension project by the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC). This initiative, driven by NWSC’s Kampala Water region located in Mbalala, promises to bring enhanced reliability and accessibility to these underserved areas.

Under the leadership of the Branch Manager, Mr. Abby, the Mbalala branch team has been equipped with 10 kilometers of DN50 pipes. The project is already well underway, and has seen the successful trenching and laying of 3.1 kilometers of pipes. Key areas such as Kisoga Town roads, Ntenjeru Town roads, Gonve Town roads, and Katosi landing site service roads have been the primary beneficiaries of this initial phase.

Impressively, the initiative has already facilitated the connection of 40 new domestic and commercial customers, with expectations to connect an additional 150 Public Stand Points (PSPs) once payments are completed. This expansion will significantly enhance access to clean safe tap water, and also promises substantial economic benefits by boosting the branch’s water sales, billing, and revenue collections.

Mr. Abby has been vocal in his appreciation for the NWSC’s top management, acknowledging the critical role played by the Managing Director-NWSC and the General Manager of Kampala Water in prioritizing improved service delivery and extending water service lines in Kisoga and Katosi, turning this project from vision to reality.

As the project progresses, the anticipation and enthusiasm among the local residents are palpable.
