In an inspiring move to enhance the quality of life in the Kiganda – Kasokoso community, the General Manager of Kampala Water, Eng. Mahmood Lutaya, and the Manager of Urban Pro Poor, Ms. Evelyne Mukajusi, joined forces with Ms. Sophie Nyanzi from Ayita Foundation. Their shared objective is the commissioning of water points, scheduled for Thursday, November 2nd, 2023.
Ayita Charity Foundation, renowned for its dedication to providing aid, improving healthcare, and transforming lives in impoverished communities, is a beacon of hope for those in need. Through the collaborative efforts of Ayita Foundation and the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), this project has the potential to change lives.
It all began when community engagements with the Kiganda community revealed a pressing issue_the need for better access to affordable, safe water. A stark realization that this collaboration is paramount; a lifeline for the residents of Kiganda – Kasokoso.
Notably, a total of 10 water points are set to be commissioned as a part of this initiative, and the significance of this endeavor cannot be overstated.
This initiative aligns seamlessly with the core mission of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), to sustainably and equitably provide cost-effective, quality water and sewerage services. The delight of all stakeholders is at the forefront of this mission, and it encompasses a commitment to conserving the environment, ensuring that future generations also benefit from the fruits of this undertaking.
Access to clean, affordable water will no longer be a distant dream but a daily reality for the residents of Kiganda – Kasokoso.
