In a remarkable collaborative endeavor, the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) recently joined forces with the United Cesspool Emptiers-Bugolobi (UCEB) committee at the Nakivubo sewerage treatment plant. Their shared mission? To address and overhaul the pressing concerns surrounding faecal sludge disposal at the Bugolobi Sewage Treatment Works.
Leading the NWSC team was the Plant Manager, Scovia Owomugisha, flanked by the Principle Commercial Officer-Apollo Omoding, the Principle Finance and Administration Officer-Florence Nanyonga, and the Engineer from the Sanitation Liaison unit-Morena Akurut. This gathering of minds dug deep into a comprehensive discussion, touching upon a number of critical issues.
The topics at hand ranged from the menace of illegal dumping to the imperative of safety compliance, the rate harmonization, and the establishment of a disciplinary committee.
