In a bid to enhance sanitation, improve health, promote environmental well-being, and stimulate business growth, the Central Business Department (CBD) recently launched an innovative program called The CBD – Sewer Activated Program. The program operates under the theme *”An Improved Sewerage Infrastructure for Business Growth.”*
After conducting a week-long investigation of the 201 active accounts within the sewerage buffer in the Nakasero Branch, a team led by Ms. Anette, the Senior Manager of CBD, and Eng. James Maiteki, the Senior Manager-Sewerage Services, along with branch managers of Nakasero, Industrial Area, Kisenyi, and Kamwokya, convened at the Sewerage Offices in Bugolobi to discuss their findings.
The sewerage unit’s dedicated team carried out a comprehensive inquiry to determine the discharge points of these accounts into our sewer network. During their investigation, the team discovered that a total of 66 accounts had been active but not billed, thus adversely affecting sewer billing in the region.
Based on these findings, the teams advised branch managers to enhance the management of new connections and account separation. This measure aims to prevent any missed opportunities for sewer revenue.
Having completed their investigation in the Nakasero Branch, the teams will now shift their focus to the Industrial Branch. This proactive approach demonstrates CBD’s commitment to improving the overall sewerage system in various areas.
The CBD’s 8-point program is designed to optimize sewer billing by fostering close collaboration with the Sewer Department. By aligning their efforts, the CBD and the Sewer Department aim to ensure accurate billing, efficient management of accounts, and increased revenue generation.
The CBD – Sewer Activated Program is not only vital for enhancing the region’s sanitation and environmental well-being but also presents significant opportunities for business growth. By establishing an improved sewerage infrastructure, the CBD is creating a foundation for sustainable development and attracting potential investors.
This initiative showcases CBD’s commitment to the well-being of its residents, businesses, and the environment. The program’s successful implementation will result in cleaner and healthier surroundings, while also boosting the economic prospects of the region.
Considering all of the facts, the launch of The CBD – Sewer Activated Program marks a crucial step toward improving sanitation, health, environmental well-being, and business growth. By identifying and rectifying issues within the sewerage system, CBD aims to optimize sewer billing and foster a collaborative approach with the Sewer Department. This initiative will not only bring about positive change but also create a conducive environment for sustainable development and attract new opportunities for the region. With such concerted efforts, CBD sets an inspiring example for other organizations to prioritize the well-being of their communities, both in terms of health and economic prosperity.
