NWSC APPRECIATED AT THE MAKERERE UNIVERSITY PARTNER RECOGNITION DINNER

Makerere University, located in Kampala, stands as the largest and oldest institution of higher learning in Uganda. Established in 1922 as a technical school, the university has made tremendous strides over the years. 

As it celebrated a century of dedicated service on June 16th, 2023, Makerere University took the opportunity to acknowledge the invaluable role played by the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC). 

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation has emerged as a crucial partner in the development of Makerere University. With their commitment to delivering efficient and reliable water and sewerage services, NWSC has not only met the university’s needs but has also contributed to the overall betterment of the institution. By ensuring access to clean water and proper sanitation facilities, NWSC has created a conducive environment for academic excellence and research.

In light of NWSC’s exceptional contributions, the Makerere University Council and Management felt it was only fitting to express their gratitude. During the commemorative dinner, held to honor the university’s century of excellence, the Senior Director of Engineering Services, Eng Alex Gisagara, represented NWSC. The presence of NWSC’s Board Member, Rt. Hon. Dan Kidega, who also serves as the Vice Chairman of the University Council, further highlighted the close ties between the corporation and the university.

The collaboration between Makerere University and NWSC has proven to be mutually beneficial. While NWSC has supported the university’s growth and development, Makerere University has, in turn, offered an avenue for NWSC to contribute to society through research and innovation.
