This ambitious initiative not only seeks to enhance revenue streams but also focuses on rectifying anomalies within the system and combating Non-Revenue Water (NRW) factors.
With an enthusiastic and driven team leading the charge on a stormy morning, Kampala Water is poised to transform its operations and ensure sustainable water management in the city.
April’s wanting performance in revenue collection efficiency raised concerns within Kampala Water and prompted the region to take proactive measures to rectify the situation and improve its financial stability.
One cannot argue against the fact that efficient revenue collection is essential for sustaining operations, meeting infrastructure maintenance costs, and investing in infrastructure upgrades to cater to the growing water demand in Kampala and therefore, this initiative was simply in order.
The revenue drive championed by the Ag. General Manager- Kampala Water, Ms. Sarah Namuwenge, is a multifaceted approach designed to optimize the collection process and was characterized by; Customer awareness/sensitization, handling of all reported/discovered anomalies, water theft investigations, Enhanced Customer Service, handle meter inaccuracies, infrastructure inspection and maintenance, and collection efficiency of course.
The drive was propelled by an enthusiastic and dedicated team committed to ensuring its success. With a clear vision for improved revenue collection and sustainable water management, Kampala Water is poised to overcome challenges and deliver reliable and affordable water services to customers of the greater Kampala Metropolitan.
