National Water and Sewerage Corporation, has once again proven its commitment to effective leadership and expansion. In a recent move, the corporation’s Top Management has established a new Zone in the Kampala Water region, making it a total of four zones. This development comes as a testament to the company’s promise of growth and improved service delivery. The newly created Central Business District (CBD) Zone, alongside the existing Central, Western, and Eastern Zones, signifies an exciting chapter for both the organization and its dedicated workforce.

To oversee the operations of the CBD Zone, Kampala Water has appointed Ms. Annet Kukunda, the former Branch Manager of the highly successful Kansanga Branch. With an impressive track record and a deep understanding of the region’s operations, Ms. Kukunda brings her expertise and experience to her new role as the Senior Manager-CBD. Notably, she has pledged to lead with a servant leadership approach, emphasizing collaboration, support, and empowerment for all branch managers under her umbrella.

Earlier today after handing over the Kansanga office to her successor, Ms. Kukunda expressed her utter gratitude towards the Kansanga team for always delivering and exceptional performance and to the City Center branch, for working so hard as to create a new zone that has propelled her to unimaginable heights.

The Acting General Manager, Ms. Sara Namuwenge in her address, called for teamwork and reminded the teams to collectively battle Non-Revenue Water in the greater Kampala Metropolitan.

“As we embark on a new chapter with the establishment of the CBD Zone, it is imperative that we emphasize the need for teamwork and tireless efforts towards growth and success. This new zone presents us with unique opportunities to improve service delivery and reduce Non-Revenue Water in Kampala Water”, stated Ms. Namuwenge.

She added that it is important to recognize that this endeavor requires a collective effort from each and every one. “By working together and sharing expertise and experiences, we can optimize workflows and allocate resources more effectively. This will allow us to provide efficient services”

The establishment of the CBD Zone in a dynamic and rapidly developing region like Kampala brings numerous advantages to both the organization and its employees. By creating a dedicated zone for the Central Business District, Kampala Water can focus on delivering efficient and tailored services to the heart of the city. This specialized attention ensures that the unique water management needs of the CBD area are met promptly and effectively.

With this move, KW can better allocate resources, optimize workflows, and ensure smoother operations. It also allows for increased specialization and targeted management, resulting in improved overall efficiency.

This strategic decision allows for enhanced service delivery, streamlined operations, and improved employee growth opportunities. The establishment of a supportive and collaborative work environment, as emphasized by Ms. Kukunda’s servant leadership approach, encourages employee engagement, job satisfaction, and overall happiness.

The expansion of zones also opens up new avenues for professional growth and development within the organization. Staff will have the chance to take on new responsibilities, acquire diverse skill sets, and gain exposure to different areas of expertise which presents an exciting prospect for individuals seeking to advance their careers within corporation.

Notably, with the appointment of the experienced and dedicated Ms. Annet Kukunda as the Senior Manager-CBD, the Zone’s affiliated branch managers can expect a servant leadership approach, enabling them to thrive under her guidance.

The Branches that will be under the CBD Zone include; Nakasero Branch (to be run by Ms. Elizabeth Kemigisha formerly the BM-Bulindo), City Center Branch (to be run by Ms. Peninah formerly BM-Kyengera), Kisenyi Branch (to be run by Ms. Barbra Ariho), and Kamwokya Branch (to be run by Ms. Grace Namukwaya).
